About

Hi!

My name is Frank Daly (although most people just call me ‘Daly’). Since 2007, I have been a singer and guitar player for Jamison Celtic Rock and continue to perform with the band today.

Early Days

At 14, I joined my first band (Trivia – Name my First Band?) and have been playing music ever since. In 1998, I joined the Irish rebel band, Spirit of 16. I was fortunate enough to meet some amazing people, play with some gifted musicians, and travel internationally for a number of years with S16. We recorded 3 CDs and played until September of 2002. It was a great time to be Irish and the band was passionate, loud and educational!

After Spirit, I started a band called ‘CON’. We did a combination of Irish songs played like grunge music, cover songs that we loved (but I don’t think anyone else did), and originals. It was one of my most favorite projects to date! We didn’t get that many gigs since we weren’t really a ‘crowd pleasing’ band but I truly loved playing in CON. We did an album of songs I wrote and released it in 2003. It’s on Spotify HERE if you are interested in listening to it?

Jamison

In 2007, I was asked to join Jamison. Many people think I started the band – I didn’t. They had been playing since 2003. We have been lucky enough to play some of the biggest festivals in the U.S and some of the greatest bars I’ve ever been to. Our crowd is fun and jumps (a lot) when we play. It’s been an honor to play with these guys and I hope we continue forever!

These days, I do a good bit of solo gigs outside of Jamison. Sometimes, I’ll do all cover songs, and sometimes all Irish, and sometimes a mix of the 2. I love it all!

Some other stuff about me:

  • Co-founded The Philadelphia Fleadh Irish Festival and An American Celtic Christmas.
  • Current or past board member for The Delaware Valley Irish Hall of Fame, The Claddagh Fund, & Delaware Valley Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann
  • Marketing!!! It’s what I do and, I love it!
  • I have 4 kids and 3 step kids (all of which are better than your kids – sorry but they are)
  • I live in Philadelphia because it’s the greatest city in the country.

Hopefully you’ll come out and see me play sometime soon!
